In mid-October, the annual congress of CLIMMAR, the European association of agricultural machinery dealers, took place in Turin, Italy, with the Association of Agricultural Machinery Importers (SDZT) participating as one of the organisation’s 16 member countries. This year’s congress was particularly significant for our association, as it was held for the first time under the leadership of the newly elected CLIMMAR President, Tomáš Kvapil, who also serves as the Chairman of SDZT.

CLIMMAR acts as the unified voice of European agricultural machinery dealers, representing more than 15,000 businesses and 159,000 employees across Europe. “In a time of rapid technological and structural change, our mission is to strengthen our members. We possess something incredibly valuable — deep, practical know-how in agricultural machinery distribution and strong, trusted relationships with our customers,” said Tomáš Kvapil in his opening speech.

The Italian organisers succeeded in preparing a highly engaging programme with distinguished speakers, including Francesco Lollobrigida (Italian Minister of Agriculture), Massimiliano Giansanti (President of Copa-Cogeca), Alessandro Malavolti (Vice-President of CEMA), and several other inspiring guests.

In addition to discussions on the future of European agricultural policy and the agricultural machinery sector, CLIMMAR also focused on its internal agenda. A new three-year strategy for the organisation was approved, and the results of the working groups, which form a core pillar of CLIMMAR’s activities, were presented.
